What’s a good way to buy stuff wholesale and sell on eBay if you don’t have a lot of money?

by admin on December 20, 2009

Name some products and suppliers, distributors, manufacturers of products that you think would sell well and are not too expensive that could be sold for reasonable profit on eBay.

Work with a reputable drop ship supplier. You will not need to buy anything upfront, you place the order after your auction closes.

Big Lots, Ross, St. Vincent De Paul, Goodwill, Salvation Army Stores, etc. etc.

Of course, catching BIG sales like Labor Day, Memorial Day, The day after Thanksgiving, etc. is an excellent way to buy stuff to resell :)

You can also do your homework, and find good deals on eBay itself, and "flip" them (resell them for a profit….)

Have fun!

eBay is a funny market. There are no guarantees on what products you sell. These sellers have so many things listed and at times, they don’t sell anything. It’s all chance. First do legwork, get some ideas and put them in Ebay’s search. See what the results are. If you see that it has alot of hits and bids then thats the product you go for. I’ve been selling on ebay for almost 10 years now (power seller for 2 years). I used to sell everything from overstocks purchased on line, discount stores and even used items that were in my home. If we all knew what the hottest products are and suppliers were, almost everyone would be selling and then you wouldn’t make a profit because the market would be too wide (competitors). Start by buying a few items and build up from there. Good Luck!

Definitely goodwill and salvation army stores. Shop at the ones in the Rich part of town. Look for items that can mailed cheaply and won’t break. Autographed books, mags, pictures, stamps etc.
