How much math is involved in an International Business degree?

by admin on January 18, 2010

I’m a high school senior who has mediocre math skills. Should I still consider going into International Business? Also, what kinds of math are used?

Thank you.

Qutie a bit. You’ll have to take Algebra, Calculus and Finite Mathematics at least. Then you will take courses in Accounting, Finance and Economics which are all math intensive. Build your math skills if you want to go into this. But mediocre math skills won’t keep you from accomplishing this if you want it.

You will probably need basic calculus for any kind of a business degree, but not much more than that.

You will probably have to take a couple of business algebra classes, an accounting class, and some statistics and economics. It really varies by the university. Go to a couple of college websites and look at the requirements.

Besides the business algebra classes, most of the math you will be required to take will probably be more statistical and basic math. Not higher level.
