Do you think Sarah Palin is an energy expert?

by admin on February 27, 2010

A questioner at a town hall-style meeting in Wisconsin said he had heard that at least 75 percent of the oil drilled in Alaska was being sold to China and said, if true, he would like to know why.
"No. It’s not 75 percent of our oil being exported," Palin said, suggesting some of Alaska’s oil, in fact, may be going abroad but not that much.
"In fact," she added, "Congress is pretty strict on, um, export bans of oil and gas especially."
No Alaska oil has been exported since 2004, and little if any since 2000, according to the Energy Information Administration and the Congressional Research Service.
And Congress has never imposed outright bans on oil exports. Congress prohibited exports of Alaska oil in 1973 when the Alaska oil pipeline was built. But that ban was lifted in 1996 when there were large volumes of Alaska oil coming down from the North Slope and U.S. demand was soft.
The Alaska ban has never been reinstated.
The great energy expert doesn’t even know what is going on in her own state. Do you actually think she will help us in this emerging energy crisis?
funny you should mention jimmy carter ted as he has nothing to do with this election whatsoever.
as for you wildflower…i am a liberal democrat. as for a loon i beg to differ. see sarah palin actually said that stuff…just yesterday. she was factually wrong yesterday about the state she governs and her so called energy expertise. was she lying or did she just not know?

Sarah Palin is not an expert at anything. She was nominated for her looks and her gender. Her son is in Iraq as a prison sentence – rather than going to jail. He was committing federal crimes at age 14 & 15. Her daughter is pregnant at age 16 and Sarah condones her drinking and playing with loaded weapons at the same time. I don’t think that makes her an expert at parenting for sure! She cut funding for the Special Olympics but claims ‘Special Needs children are near and dear to my heart". She really thinks she is a foreign policy expert because of her location? OK – I take it back she is an expert at lying and being stupid. As an American I am embarrassed she was chosen to run. I can only hope after all these claims in Alaska against her are proven, she will be impeached as governor and go back to being a weather girl and avid hunter. Maybelline could use another pretty face.

Though I voted for Bush in the last election. I feel she has more of a concept than most. Maybe not an expert, but much more realistic than our oil mongers we currently have. I have heard she is tough on regulations and trying not to destroy Alaska’s wilderness in the process. I am sure she is not aware of everything that goes on.

No, being governor from a oil producing state is not a qualification of energy expertise. Bush was Governor of Texas, another state with 20% domestic oil production, and we saw where that got us.

For god’s sake, she can’t even pronounce the word nuclear. She just needed a persona and decided to play the energy expert.

No, I don’t think she’s much of an expert at anything.

Now, while I will be voting Obama, I do respect McCain’s experience and his service to our country. However Palin as a VP choice is unacceptable. Inexperienced, untruthful, slanderous, embroiled in two different investigations…she isn’t right for our country, plain and simple. I find it hard to see how anyone could think, that in the event McCain wins the Presidency and then passes away (which is a possibility due to his respectable age) that this woman could run our country. There is a video, shown in the news and online, of her in an Evangelical church, being prayed over and protected from any "witchcraft" trying to ruin her campaign. Whoa.

So while I respect Obama, McCain, and Biden as potential Presidents and VP’s, I cannot get behind this woman, and I am a woman myself! How I wish we had a good representation of our gender! But we don’t. Please don’t vote for this woman. It’s a mistake.

I think you are probably a liberal Democratic loon who just wants to sound off. I don’t know anything much about energy, but I have watched Vice President Sarah Palin on TV enough to know that she is a brilliant politician. She definitely has a great future in store for her whether or not McCain wins the election or not. And that has a lot of liberals very upset. Who’d a thought the spirit of Ronald Reagan would come back in the form of a skirt and a Mom of 5? A comment I heard R.R.’s son make at a recent guest appearance on TV.

Funny you bring that up.

I remember a real energy expert; a nuclear expert in fact.

His name was Jimmy Carter! Does that name ring a bell?
Perhaps the WORST POTUS EVER!!!!!
Remember 18% mortgages? I do… And it was Jim-Bob who made that happen.

Oh and for the record…. It was Jimmy Carter who, even with advanced degrees in Nuclear studies pronounces NUCLEAR as NUCULAR!!!!
The man was and is still an a$$.
