Thank you.
Congratulations on your first international flight.
1. You will need to present your e-ticket and passport to the airport security guard at the entrance. On verifying, the guard will let you in to the terminal.
2. You will then need to go to the airline counter you are flying on to Frankfurt.
3. At the airline counter, you will need "check in" which means you will need to present your e-ticket, passport and your bag that you plan to book. The weight of the bag to be booked must be up to 20 kgs. That is the permissable weight for Economy class travellers.
4. After completing the "check in" process, you will need to fill an Immigration Form, which is easily available at the international airport help desks. The form is very basic so don’t worry. It asks you for your name, address, flight number etc.
5. After filling the form, you will need to proceed to Customs/Immigration where your identity will be verified once again, your travel visa for Germany checked and your passport will be stamped.
6. After Customs/Immigration, you will need to undergo Security Check where you will need to get your hand baggage scanned. The weight of your hand baggage must be up to 7 kgs. In addition, you can also carry a laptop bag or ladies purse as an extra item.
7. After security check, you can proceed to your boarding gate for your flight.
8. Once you arrive in Frankfurt, you will need to undergo Customs/Immigration clearance again, which is similar to what you underwent in India.
9. After Customs/Immigration, you will need to proceed to the Baggage Claim area where you will find the bag that you had booked.
As far as currency goes, you are permitted to carry up to US$ 5000 as per the Govt. of India rules. This translates to approximately Euros 3600.
