If Lieberman was Al Gore’s running mate, and Al Gore is the most brilliant man in America, isn’t that all of the endorsement that Joe Lieberman needs?

Seriously, he is very pissed of about the lack of support that he received from Democrats in his 2006 Senate reelection bid. The people who helped him were Republicans… AND NOW IT’S PAYBACK TIME!

Did any of those issues require him to take flak from his Demcratic leaders or was their basically a broad appeal amongst both Republican / Democrats? It is kind of like the immigration issue, how much crap did McCain get for his effort? Its one thing for Obama to say "Hey Republican lets come up with a bill that says we shouldn't sell nuclear technology to North Korea" (no crap Sherlock) than to say "Hey Republicans, lets get something done to deal with immigration" (and deal with the flack from the Democratic Party dragging its feet).

I have seen several interviews, comments by Lieberman on different topics. Whatever his opinions, I believe that he is a man who strives for personal integrity and is unusually conscious (for a politician) and self-aware regarding priorities. He displayed a sense of humor last night, as well as genuine human emotion (it may have been hard for him to stand, "a Democrat *like him*" before a sea of Republicans" They began as a polite but slightly skeptical audience, and he won them over—-

I like him because he says what he thinks even though it might hurt him politically. It takes guts to say what he said last night. I am also a former Democrat, now an independent. Moderates like me and Joe Lieberman are no longer represented by the party which has moved to the very far left by nominating the most liberal member of Congress.

Joe is OK, I like him alright, always did. And he is right, Obama’s record is nothing compared to McCain’s, and Obama’s past is a lot scarier than Palin’s. Obama is a bad choice for President, there’s no two ways about it. If he weren’t black, no one would have ever heard of him, that’s his one and only qualification.

I agree with you about what he said about Obama. I was quite disappointed in him. I understand that he is trying to help his friend win, but that was a total lie and he knew it. Maybe he was secretly trying to sabotage his own credibility. I don't know. I was disgusted.
