Can I export contact from excel and import into my yahoo contacts?

by admin on October 9, 2009

I have a large list of contacts in an excel spread sheet that have opted in to a list. I would like to get them into my yahoo contact list so I may e-mail them easier. Is this possible? Is there a way that I can at least get their name and e-mail address imported into my contact list so that I can e-mail them from my yahoo contacts?

Yes but it may take some work on your part. First you need to see what the Yahoo.CSV format is. Do this by setting up at least one of your contacts with every field filled in. Then export that to a yahoo.CSV format. Click on Options, Mail Options, then Contacts then Import/Export. From there you can export your existing contacts to a file.
Second open that file into Excel. You will then see where each piece of information has to be.
Third, arrange your Excel file just like what you see from the Yahoo file and then in excel ‘Save As’ your newly rearranged file as a CSV (comma delimited) file.
Fourth Import that CSV file into yahoo mail from the same Mail Options area you used earlier.
Though but possible.
