Does brazil export oil and natural gas?

by admin on October 13, 2009

Brazil –Oil exports of Brazil’s state-run oil company Petrobras reached an all-time high of 484,000 barrels a day in November, 2006 the company said Thursday.

That was 31,000 barrels a day more than the previous monthly record the company reached in October, Petrobras, or Petroleo Brasileiro SA, said in a statement.

Petrobras exported 14.52 million barrels of oil in November.

More than half of the exported oil came from the Marlim field off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, with most of the remainder from nearby fields in the Campos Basin, Petrobras said.

November exports earned the company $740 million in revenue.

Petrobras still needs to import light oil to produce high quality fuel in Brazil as most of Brazilian crude is of a very heavy variety. But the company’s exports are about to exceed imports on a sustained basis because of Brazil’s soaring oil production.
Brazilian economy wean itself off its dependency on Bolivian gas.

The Brazilians has to import most of it’s natural gas from Bolivia.
In future they also want to import gas from Peru.
