Idaho Department of Commerce – Gem Community Grant Contract for the Latah Economic Development Corporation (LEDC). Notification was received on April 1, 2008, from Jerry Miller, Economic Development Specialist for the Idaho Department of Commerce; that the City was awarded a Gem Community Grant on behalf of the LEDC in the amount of $45,000 for wet lab upgrades at the Business Technology Incubator. I have provided proof that I’m not the person that should have been billed. And they continue to add the other persons charges to my bill and have even sent it to a collection agency. The account was opened in 1985, and I’m only 25 years old. I have filed a complaint with my state department of commerce. I want to know what else I can do legally, for the harassment from the utility company and collection agency, and the negative mark on my credit report.

You can notify all credit agencies (the national ones) of this situation and place on file your proof. You can go to court and ask the court to seek an injunction to have the company to cease and dissent using your name on material billing without proof prior to your engaging in a lawsuit w/ them. You can contact these people in typical newspaper columns who claim to be willing to resolve disputes for people. Since you have tried to talk to the utility, next send a letter and copies of your argument to their complaint or department that answers charges of incorrect billing. good luck
