I am trying to export a list of contacts to a friend without exporting my entire address book.

Looks like you can’t be selective.

My account has been hacked into or a virus has got into it and I need to get into it to get my contacts and then delet the account but I can’t even get into it but there was a email sent to all of my contacts aswell saying that i was stuck somewhere in africa and ineeded money so what i want to know is how do i get my contacts exported and then delet my account with out being able to log on

Sure, that’s easy :

1. Open Windows Live Messenger
2. Sign in with your account & password
3. Look on top left corner
4. Click on "Contacts"
5. Scroll down to the "Save instant messaging contacts" and click on it
6. Under "Save in" choose the place you want them to be saved in
7. Leave everything else as it was and click on Save
8. Click Ok on the small message that pops-up

i have got a new blackberry and want to move all of the contacts from my Outlook address book onto it, but it doesnt seem to let me using the blackberry desktop manager

Make sure you have Outlook setup as your source for syncing. Make sure you have the items you want synced "checked" in the configuration.

If that doesn’t work…

if so, how is this done? I actually just got the new HTC HD2 cell phone. My outlook contacts came over easy, but no yahoo contacts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You have to set up your phone to access yahoo e-mails. HTC HD2 is able to have more than one e-mail account. Thus set it up and you will be able to get all contacts. If however, you are thinking that you can import all the contact information into your phone from yahoo, that is not possible.

I am selling my iPhone 3G today to get the iPhone 3G S. I am using my old AT&T phone, which does not have Bluetooth, for a week until the iPhone 3G S comes out. I need to get all my contacts onto the old phone.

You can’t export your contacts to the sim card. AT&T can transfer them to the old phone if you take both to an AT&T store.

log in and go to the toolbar up top.

click people or file and select export buddy list

do the reverse when importing to your new screen name

I am going to change service and the phone (from Blackberry 7100t with T-Mobile to Nokia Communicator 9300 with Cingular).

I have about 300+ contacts. Is there a way to save/export these contacts to PC and then import/upload to Nokia Communicator 9300?

Even if there is a way to just export the contacts to PC, I guess I can find the way to import those into 9300.

Unfortunately I don’t have outlook but use outlook express at home. Maybe I’ll install it from (MS-Office CD I have?). Thanks for the tip – now I know where to start from.

Yes, the best way to do this is to use pocketsync to sync to Outlook. Then use Outlook to sync back to your new phone. Have done it quite a few times over the years and works well.
